What we collect, why, and the control you have over it. In plain English.
Last updated 23 June 2026. This is written in plain English to be genuinely useful, and it is a starting policy, not legal advice. Please read it and have a solicitor check it before you rely on it.
Who is responsible for your data
Upkept is the data controller for the information you give us. If you have any question about your data, email support@upkept.uk.
What we collect
- Your email, if you ask for a free template or join our list.
- Your name, email and order details, when you buy something. Your card details go straight to our payment provider; we never see or store them.
- Basic site analytics, such as which pages are visited, to understand what is useful and keep the site working.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To deliver what you bought and email your files: this is to perform our contract with you.
- To send you marketing emails: only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To keep the site secure and improve it: our legitimate interest in running a safe, useful service.
Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies that make the site and your basket work. We only use analytics cookies if you allow them through the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites.
Who we share it with
We use a few trusted providers to run the business, for example a payment provider, an email provider and an analytics tool. They only process your data on our instructions. We never sell your data, and we never share it with anyone who is not helping us run Upkept.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting, and marketing data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you the data we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, and you can withdraw consent for marketing at any time. Every marketing email also has a one-click unsubscribe. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
